TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Local agencies are joining forces to help keep people warm this season. The Toledo Gospel Mission, Susie's Coats, the Salvation Army, Promedica, and Hannah's socks will host one large coat distribution on Saturday. Families can receive free coats, hats, gloves and blankets. You can not get a coat for others who are not in attendance. It's happening at the Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission on 3342 Monroe street. It runs from noon to two p-m. Volunteers say it's heart warming feeling to know a child or a person won't be cold.

"They will come in and sometimes they're just wearing a shirt or they are covered up in a blanket. To find a fun coat and to find a hat. Their eyes light up. It gives them a sense of hope and that everything is stable at home and life is good," said the founder of Suzie's Coats Susan Perry.

Anyone in need just has to show up, give their name, number in attendance from their household and a zip code.
