Springfield High School student receives national honor

A Springfield High School student and teacher will travel to Normandy, France after receiving a national honor.

Joshua Fox, a junior at Springfield, and his teacher, Andrew Screptock, have been accepted into the Normandy: Sacrifice for Freedom Albert H. Small Student & Teacher Institute.

Fox is only one of fifteen students nationwide that was accepted into the institute. The pair will research a hero who's buried at the American Cemetery and whose story has not been told.

The two will later travel to Normandy and Fox will give his silent hero's eulogy.
