Strong winds cause widespread power outages in Ohio, Michigan

TOLEDO, Ohio (13abc Action News) - Thousands of people in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan are without power after strong winds in the area.

In Ohio, Toledo Edison reports 900 customers in Lucas and Fulton counties are without power.

Comsumers Energy in Michigan tells 13abc nearly 2,000 customers in Monroe County, 58 customers in Lenawee and 560 customers in Hillsdale County are all affected by the outage.

Representatives with both companies say their crews hope to have power fully restored by Sunday morning.

Customers are asked to check their company's outage map for any updates.
