Sunday fire claims life in Fostoria

FOSTORIA, Ohio (WTVG) - A woman was killed in a house fire in Fostoria on Sunday afternoon according to the fire department there.

Authorities tell 13abc a house at 295 Boston Avenue was engulfed in flames when they arrived shortly after 2:30pm. The body of a woman was discovered inside. Her identity has not been released.

The victim was found in a bedroom. Her body was taken to the Lucas County Coroner's office for identification.

The flames caused extensive damage to the house, and moderate damage to a house next door. The cause remains undetermined and the State Fire Marshal's office is investigating. The Tiffin Fire Department also assisted at the scene of the fire.
