(TOLEDO) - Toledo Edison and parent company First Energy is preparing to deal with incoming winter weather that could disrupt electrical service.
The utility tells 13abc.com they have staff meteorologists who are monitoring the weather forecast around the clock. Once the storm path is determined, crews will be dispatched in advance to areas where "they can do the most good" according to spokesman Christopher Eck.
First Energy has mutual assistance agreements with other utility companies to bring in out-of-area crews quickly if needed.
First Energy says their main concern is heavy, wet snow combined with ice and high winds that could bring down lines.
13abc.com will keep you informed should power outages become a weather-related issue in the coming days.
