Toledo attorney facing heroin possession charge

TOLEDO (13abc Action News) - A Toledo attorney has been arrested for heroin possession.

Kenneth Phillips is facing a possession of a controlled substance charge.

He was arrested on Monday in the 1900 block of North Summit Street in Toledo.

According to a police affidavit, Phillips was arrested with less than one gram of heroin.

Phillips appeared in Toledo Municipal Court and has been released. He has been referred to a detox program according to court records. He'll return to court on May 25th.

Phillips ran for a Lucas County Common Pleas judge seat in 2012. He was defeated by Myron Duhart.

13abc has placed a call to Phillips' attorney for comment but we have not heard back yet.
