Traffic stop leads troopers to three pounds of marijuana

SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio (WTVG) - Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers found three pounds of marijuana and two unleaded guns during a traffic stop in Sandusky County.

Troopers pulled over Michael W. Brown III, 25, of Akron, for speeding on April 16 at 6:16pm. Brown III was driving eastbound on I-80 near milepost 80.

During the traffic stop, the trooper reportedly saw marijuana debris in plain sight. The trooper executed a probable cause search warrant and found several bags of marijuana, weighing more than three pounds.

The trooper also found two unloaded handguns. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, that contraband has a street value of nearly $8,000.

Brown III was locked up in the Sandusky County Jail. He's charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana, both third-degree felonies.
