Troopers find nearly $5,000 worth of marijuana and edibles during traffic stop

SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio (WTVG) - Troopers pulled the driver over on the Ohio Turnpike in Sandusky County for speeding and driving without lights on Sept. 10. According to authorities, the troopers observed criminal indicators. They executed a probably cause search and found more than one pound of marijuana and 234 grams of marijuana edibles. Troopers also found a bottle of liquid THC on the passenger during a consensual pat-down. Authorities say the contraband has a street value of $4,900.

The driver, Melika M. Beasley, 27, and passenger, Davaghn Copeland, 25, both from Pittsburgh, were incarcerated in the Sandusky County Jail. Each were charged with trafficking in marijuana, a fourth-degree felony and possession of marijuana, fifth-degree felony.
