Sisters killed in Wood County crash, mother in critical condition

PLAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (13abc Action News) - Two sisters are dead following a two-car crash in Wood County Thursday, according to the Wood County Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened on U.S. Route 6 at Rudolph Road in Plain Township.

According to an incident report, a Ford Focus traveling southbound along the road failed to yield at a stop sign. The Focus then collided into a Ford Explorer.

Officials identified the occupants of the Focus Friday night as Amy Grace Mussard, 58, and Celia Jane, 62.

The Wood County Sheriff's Office says Mussard and Jane were sisters. Both were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Their mother, Katherine Mussard, 90, was riding in the back seat at the time of the crash.

Katherine Mussard was transported by air ambulance to a Toledo hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
