TOLEDO,Ohio (13abc Action News) - There's going to be some competition for the Lucas County Treasurer's office. 13abc has learned Waterville mayor Lori Brodie will file petitions tomorrow (the filing deadline) to make a run for the county office.
Brodie, a Republican has been Waterville mayor since 2011. Prior to that she served two terms on Waterville council. She tells 13abc, "it's been a long time since a Republican has held office in Lucas County government. I believe a balance would promote new ideas, progress, and positive change for our region."
Former Toledo city councilwoman LIndsay Webb took the office last month following credit issues in obtaining a surety bond .
Brodie and Webb are expected to run unopposed in the May primary and face off in November to complete the two years left of the treasurer's term
