Freezing rain & sleet for Sunday

By  |

TOLEDO, OH (WTVG) – Sunday 1:30 PM Update:

Freezing rain just about done for the area at 1:30 PM and all winter weather advisories for NW Ohio have been cancelled. Only a very slim chance for spotty/brief freezing drizzle/sleet or a few flakes for the remainder of the day. Not expecting any more new glazing of ice to occur, which is good news. But temperatures will be at or below freezing, then drop to around 10 degrees overnight, any icy conditions left untreated from earlier in the day will remain icy into tomorrow morning.

Chance for freezing rain or freezing mist in the area will continue into the mid-late afternoon. Many roads and surfaces are icy and slick from this morning. Once precipitation ends, temperatures will remain below freezing this evening, dropping to a low of 10 degrees overnight. Any icy spots that remain untreated today will still be slick into Monday morning. Otherwise skies will clear late tonight and we have a mostly sunny 25 degrees Monday afternoon.

Drive cautiously
