Wolverines lose Outback Bowl to South Carolina

The Michigan Wolverines suffered from five turnovers and a sluggish offense and lost the Outback Bowl to South Carolina 26-19 on New Year's Day.

The win for the Gamecocks signaled a turnaround after they trailed 9-3 at halftime. At one point, the Wolverines led 19-3.

The loss was the Big Ten's only defeat in this season's bowls going 7-1 overall. Michigan finished the season with a 8-5 record.
