Toledo, OH (WTVG) - A Toledo woman is facing charges of forgery for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from inmates at the jail.
According to Sheriff's Detective, Chrystie Norwood got a hold of the account number to the Lucas County jail inmate trust account, printed fake checks and then recruited people to cash them.
The crimes happened in November- robbing the sheriff's office inmate account of nearly $20,000.
The account has since been closed but it's unclear if the county will have to foot the bill for the unaccounted cash.
Detectives say there are additional suspects in this case but they have not yet been charged.
