TOLEDO (WTVG) - Vaulting to the state meet is part of Southview senior Kendall Fitchpatric's personal gymnastics routine.
Except the pressure is on this weekend as she'll try to make it four straight trips.
"Most people know her know that she's really focused and dedicated on being the best that she can be," Southview gymnastics coach Mike McKee said. "Almost to a fault sometimes. But she does do a good job trying to make each vault the best."
Almost to a fault ... on the vault?
"I have had some really high scores this year and I was second in the (Northern Lakes League) for the vault as well," Fitchpatric said. "(I'm) just trying to get that same vault here in districts."
Even with three trips to state on her resume, Kendall has yet to clear the All-State mark with a top ten finish. The last goal on her list.
"Bringing a plaque back to my school has been a goal since (freshman year)," Fitchpatric said. "To be on our wall of our All-State people - there hasn't been a gymnast since 19-something - to have that for my school would be a really cool opportunity."
