Kretzschmar recognized for dedication to Evans Scholarship effort

Since 1933 the Evans Scholarship has helped caddies earn their way to college and Pemberville resident John Kretzschmar has played a significant role in the foundation's success.

He recently received the Donald D. Johnson Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Evans Scholars Summer Outing in Long Grove, Ill. Kretzschmar was recognized for his dedication to the WGA and its Evans Scholars Foundation in longtime volunteer leadership roles.

Kretzschmar became a WGA Director in 1982 and served as chairman of the WGA in 2000 and 2001, and as chairman of the ESF Trustees the two years following. From 1985 to 1999, he was tournament chairman of the Western Junior. He is a member at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.
