Oilers Fall in NCAA Midwest Regional Semifinal

The University of Findlay volleyball team was defeated by Rockhurst 3-0 (25-23, 25-10, 25-19), on December 1, in Romeoville, Ill. at the 2017 NCAA Midwest Regional Semifinal. Findlay will finish their 2017 season with a record of 28-6 and a conference record of 15-2. This is the most wins the Oilers have had in a season since 2003, and this is the second time in three seasons that the Oilers have reached the round of 32 in the NCAA tournament.

The Oilers were led by junior Amanda who recorded 10 kills, while sophomore Izzy Murphy had seven kills, and sophomore Shelby Kin and freshman Madison Moore each added six.

Junior Hailee Olson had 33 assists and four digs in the win.

Junior Kara Scherger led the team defensively receiving 15 digs, while Olson and Winner received four digs each.

Wendel finishes her career with 619 digs and 69 Aces for the Oilers, and Senior Erika Roach finishes her career with 276 kills and 288 total digs.
