The University of Findlay men's golf team participated on the first day of the Al Watrous Memorial held in Bay City, Michigan on Saturday, September 9. Through 18 holes, the Oilers find themselves in fourth place out of 16 teams after posting a score of 291. Two teams from Saginaw Valley State and a team from Grand Valley State hold the top three spots.
Senior Justin Roth led the team with a round of 71. It marks the third time in three rounds this season that Roth has shot a 73 or less. Fellow senior Cam Wardley also had a solid round as he shot even-par, 72.
A pair of sophomores, Cameron Bruce and Grant Ricketts, finished in the next two spots with scores of 73 and 75, respectively. Freshman Luke Kelly shot a 75 to round out the scoring.
The men will be back in action tomorrow, September 10, for the final round of the tournament.
