First of 5 semi trucks filled with water arrive in Flint courtesy of Cher

MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) - A major water donation rolled into the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Wednesday morning.

It was the first of five semi-trucks filled with water that are set to arrive over the next few days, courtesy of singer and Academy Award winning actress Cher.

Cher partnered with Icelandic Glacier to make it happen.

The first truck was filled with 35,000 bottles.

"Having somebody like Cher with us to do this, and more importantly, with the power of Cher, is getting the word out there and letting the nation and world know what is going on here and to help push to get this situation resolved," said Kristjan Olafsson, co-founder of Icelandic Glacier.

By Monday, Cher's donation total is expected to hit 180,000 bottles.
