TOLEDO (WTVG) - A community is coming together to help three children who lost their parents in a domestic violence shooting.
Friends of Tina Warren have organized a fundraising spaghetti dinner to raise money for her kids.
It is being held today, Saturday October 1st, at Holy Trinity Church on 1825 Glendale Ave. from 4pm-8pm. The event will have a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, entertainment, and a spaghetti dinner. The dinner costs $10.
Warren was a Toledo Police 911 dispatcher who was killed on August 29th by her husband in what police call a murder-suicide.
This benefit is thrown by some of the families whose children attend preschool with Warren’s youngest daughter.
Friends say Tina Warren leaves behind 3 children who will be the exclusive beneficiaries of the proceeds through the Toledo Police Credit Union fund.
Tina Warren was hired in 2001 as a police records clerk but was promoted in 2006 to a Communications Operator and promoted again in 2008 to a Senior Communications Operator. She handled 911 calls as well as calls from police officers out in the field.
