"Thanks for waking up with us!"
Christina Williams and I say it so often during the weekend morning news, it's become a habit.
But it's true.
We sincerely appreciate everyone spending time with our broadcast that spans four hours every Saturday and Sunday morning on 13abc. I'm honored to be co-anchoring the Emmy-nominated newscast, where I transitioned to the anchor desk in 2011.
I've worked at WTVG since June of 2000, including two years in the Findlay bureau. In 2012, I branched out further into the community as an adjunct instructor for The University of Toledo. I currently teach a course on public speaking.
Speaking of public speaking, I'm proud to help support various organizations in the Toledo area by lending a hand (or a voice) as Master of Ceremonies. Tina and I have served as co-MCs at Planned Pethood's "Paw Hoorah," and the Toledo Area Humane Society's annual fundraiser dinner. I've also hosted the Northwest Ohio Blues and Jazz Festival as a benefit for the Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank since the annual concerts began in 2010. You can also catch me as M.C. at the "Night Golf" benefit for Harbor behavioral health, narrator for the River Raisin Chorus of Sweet Adelines, and at the Anthony Wayne Showcase of Marching Bands, where I've helped for the better part of a decade.
I also hosted the preview night of "Broadway in Toledo 2013" at the Stranahan Theatre for the Theatre League, I played the narrator in Peter and the Wolf and Mother Ginger in The Nutcracker for the Ballet Theatre of Toledo 2012-13, and I was the host for a Toledo tradition, The Toledo Symphony Concert Band's "Music Under the Stars 2013" at the Toledo Zoo.
On top of that, I filled in for Diane Larson as host at the Adopt America annual auction 2012 and stepped in to help the Toledo Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps. during their annual fundraising dinner in 2013.
I also judged a chili contest … and Pizzapalooza. Whew!
During my time at 13abc, I've received 5 Emmy nominations, two of them for "Tony & Todd's Roadside Attractions." I've also received several awards from the Ohio Associated Press, including "Best Reporter 2011" and "Best Breaking News" in 2011 and 2012. I am currently on the board of the newly formed Ohio Associated Press Media Editors, which combines traditional broadcast and print journalists across the state into one organization.

Feel free to drop me a line anytime. It's my honor and privilege to help out in the community and be part of the team here at 13abc!
