Dave attended Kent State University, where he served as sports director and general manager of the college TV station. After an internship at WKYC in Cleveland, Dave tried out for a national reality show called "Dream Job." Airing on ESPN, the show was a broadcast competition in which the grand prize was a one-year contract as an anchor at ESPN. Every week, a contestant was eliminated. In the end, Dave won the show and a job as an anchor at the "Worldwide Leader of Sports."
Holmes spent a year anchoring at ESPN, graduating from Kent State in 2005 while at the station. After leaving ESPN, Dave worked in sports radio in Canton, Ohio before coming to 13ABC. He's excited to be a part of the Toledo community, especially with the passion this area has for sports.
In his free time, Dave loves playing golf and spending time with his family. He's always looking for sports stories, especially those that transcend the games. If you have an idea that would make a great story, feel free to email him at David.Holmes@13abc.com
