Sanaa Orra joined 13abc in June of 2002. She started her career at 13abc as an assignment editor and progressed to an on-air position. As an assignment editor, she monitored police scanners, assigned news crews stories of the day, and answered hundreds of your calls to the newsroom. Now after six years of reporting, she is still excited and honored to be able to personally tell your stories.
She was born in Toledo, Ohio and grew up in Oregon, Ohio. She is an honors graduate of Clay High School (1999) and graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Toledo (2003) with a BA in Communication and a minor in Business Administration. During her college tenure, she interned in the newsroom at WNWO-TV, and was an investigative intern at WTOL-TV.
Sanaa has always been interested in television news because of its ability to instantly inform people. Whether the story is big or small, Sanaa feels that news affects people's lives. She meets many people every day and loves to hear and cover their stories. Sanaa is happily married and resides in Maumee with her husband and their two wonderful sons. Sanaa is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi and Golden Key International honor academic societies. She is also an executive board member of the Toledo Bar Association Ladies Auxiliary Inc., a local non-profit organization.
