People turn to Cherry Street Mission in hard economic times

As income remains low, locally more and more people are looking for some type of help.

The Cherry Street Mission Ministries says the number of women seeking assistance went up 23% last month when compared to September last year.

The numbers also went up 17% for men.

The mission says it's serving an average of 816 meals a day.

That's an increase of 25% from 2010.
