1. TOLEDO BUDGET Q & A

If you live in Toledo, and you have some questions or concerns about the proposed budget for 20-12 ... one city councilman is offering to meet with you today. Toledo City Councilman Tyrone Riley is hosting a town hall offering residents a chance to learn more about the proposed budget for 20-12.

2. TIFFIN FLAGPOLES (TOLEDO BLADE)

A set of flagpoles will be installed at the site in northwest Ohio where a more than 125-year-old county courthouse is coming down. Seneca County Commissioner Dave Sauber told a veterans group yesterday that the three poles will be for an American flag, an Ohio flag and a POW/MIA flag. The (Toledo) Blade reports that the United Veterans Council was concerned about whether it would be able to continue a tradition during the annual Memorial Day parade in Tiffin. Veterans pause to raise and lower a flag on the courthouse grounds.

3. WARDEN SPAY AND NEUTER PROJECT

The Lucas County Dog Warden's office plans to unveil a new surgical suite. The facility will allow the dog warden's office to perform spaying and neutering on site. This new addition will also avoid transporting animals for minor surgical procedures.

4. PROMEDICA HEART ADVANCEMENT

Promedica plans to show off technology they say is only available at Toledo Hospital. The new, non-surgical procedure is called transcatheter aortic heart valve replacement ... or TAVR. It offers an option for high risk patients with failing heart valves who are *not* candidates for open-heart surgery.

5. MI: PRESIDENT COMING TO MICHIGAN

President Obama is bringing his campaign to Michigan this week. The President is scheduled to speak in the Detroit area Thursday, and then he'll be at the University of Michigan on Friday. According to radio station WWJ in Detroit - you do need a ticket to attend. You can get those tickets starting Thursday morning at 9 at the Michigan union ticket office.

6. OH: SANTORUM COMING TO COLUMBUS

The Ohio Christian Alliance says Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum will speak in Columbus on Feb. 18. The group says all the GOP presidential contenders have been invited to the group's Freedom Luncheon and that other "special guests" are expected. There has been little recent Republican presidential campaigning in Ohio, but activity is expected to heat up next month. The state's March 6 primary looms as a key test for the GOP field.

7. OH: JOBS APP

A new mobile application from the state of Ohio allows jobseekers to search and apply for jobs using an iPhone, iPad or Android. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services announced the free OhioMeansJobs app yesterday, saying it allows users to search tens of thousands of job openings and internships using a job title, keyword or location.

8. MI: MICHIGAN RESIDENT AT S.O.T.U.

A West Michigan worker is expected to be seated near first lady Michelle Obama during the State of the Union address. Bryan Ritterby of Holland tells The Holland Sentinel he was surprised to get a call over the weekend inviting to attend tonight's speech. Ritterby works at Holland-based Energetx Composites, testing wind turbine materials.

9. OBAMA: S.O.T.U.
