Toledo Police tell 13abc that there has been an arrest made in the Bricker Avenue fatal shooting Wednesday, May 23.
Tom Corogin loves people, adventure, and sailboats. He traveled the world in the US Navy then retired as an Attorney. He says his love for the sea kept him from retired living.
At the age of 84, he has a dream to be the oldest American to sail alone along the tip of South America.
That attraction would lead to 7 attempts at breaking the Guinness Book of World Records.
Tom remembers each attempt like it was yesterday. Each trip was cut short because of a malfunction on his boat or a mishap.
His last attempt would make national headlines.
Tom tells 13abc, "The second day out I had as storm and the lower backstay broke on the portside, I did a temporary repair on it and crossed my fingers."
"On the fourth day out it pretty much destroyed the back end of my boat."
Tom found himself stranded on his 34 foot boat, alone and 500 miles from land.
He says, "Finally after a day or so I just realized it was hopeless...I couldn't do it."
Tom sent a radio signal for help but the system quit while transmitting. He then sent a satellite message which was received by stations around the world.
The Chilean Navy responded.
"The admiral was in his plane and diverted it to head to Easter island to start the search," Tom says.
He was later pulled out of the water and put on a Chilean navy ship. He says he was never worried about surviving.
He reflects on the ordeal as just another adventure he was blessed to experience.
So, will he make an 8th attempt to sail the tip of cape horn?
"I can't give you an answer on whether I'll try again ...it takes a lot of effort to get as far as I got...it took me 3 months to get to where I was," he says. "I have received an invitation from the Chilean navy to go back and I think they would put me on a ship that's going to cape horn."
In the meantime, you can find Tom on his marina in Port Clinton, enjoying this beautiful lake and all the beauty it has to offer. Still, a trip to Cape Horn will always be on his mind.

Yingling, 26, was inside the Target on U.S. 250 near Sandusky Tuesday around 7:30 p.m. She was in the changing room, trying on pants. That's when she spotted an I-phone sticking out from underneath a stall. According to police, it was recording her with its camera.
