Pedestrian struck on SR 18 near I-75

The Wood County Sheriff's office was investigating a pedestrian/vehicle accident which occurred on State Route 18 at I-75 interchange Wednesday morning.

Deputies say a westbound commercial vehicle was turning south onto I-75 entrance ramp, when it struck Brad Swisher of Bloomdale as he ran across the intersection.

Swisher, 35, was transported via Life Flight to St. Vincent's Hospital.

The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured.

No citations have been issued. Crews continue to investigate.
