1. DEPUTIES FIRED
Two Sandusky County Sheriff's deputies were fired and another resigned after an investigation found they sexually exploited a female inmate. The decision comes after the results of a disciplinary hearing were released today. The three left the woman naked in a county jail cell for six hours.
2. COOPER TIRE TALKS
Contract talks resumed today at Cooper Tire in Findlay but locked out union workers are still no closer to going back to work after three months on the picket line. Union leaders met with the company today from 9am to about 730pm but failed to reach an agreement. Talks are scheduled to resume Wednesday morning.

3. WELFARE CHANGES
In Michigan, House Republicans have approved a bill that factors lottery and gambling winnings into eligibility for welfare programs. Lottery officials would be required to notify the state's Department of Human Services about winners of $1000 or more. The measure now moves to the Senate for a vote.
4. HIGH SCHOOL REOPENS
A high school in Central Ohio is back open after a strange smell made students sick and closed the building for a week. The Columbus Dispatch says district officials haven't ruled out that someone caused the smell. The district hired air quality experts to investigate.

5. DOW HITS 13,000
The Dow crossed the 13,000 mark for the first time in four years although it didn't stay there long. It hit 13,000 just before 11:30am and stayed there about 30 seconds before dropping back. At the end of trading, the Dow finished up 16 points to close at 12,966. Experts credit the stock growth to lessening concerns about a financial meltdown in Europe and a second recession.
6. NEW CREDIT CARDS
The number of new credit cards issued to consumers rose 14 percent in 2011. The credit report agency TransUnion says about a quarter of them were issued to people with blemished credit histories.
