From Fifth Third Field, I was there to witness it; Muddy took the first SWING of the day. I reported live this morning from the outfield, and yes, my initial feeling was, "Burr , it's chilly out here." However, for quite some time the anticipation has been building for this glorious day. First and foremost, a solemn Good Friday greeting to everyone. Then coming in close behind that thought, HAPPY OPENING DAY!! Today is the day of the year, that every baseball fan has been waiting for since the St. Louis Cardinals garnered an impressive 6-2 win over the Texas Rangers on October 28th, 2011, becoming World Series Champions. (Cards, WHO? - haha J/K).
Now, if you were able to catch a glimpse of 13abc Action News this morning with the wonderful Sashem Brey and Jeff Smith, you learned that there is a lot more going on downtown than just a baseball game. Gates open at 3pm, and the Hens are excited to be hosting the "party of the year." Opening Day Bash presented by The Toledo Blade is the perfect way to get the rowdy Hens fans ready for the big game. However, the fun doesn't stop there.
