Man found dead in burning car outside bar

FRENCHTOWN TWP., Mich. -

A Monroe County man is dead after his car caught fire outside of a local bar early Saturday morning.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says around 3:00 a.m. a man's car caught fire in the parking lot of the Gravel Pit bar on N. Telegraph in Frenchtown Township.

The 33-year-old man did not get out of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and the Arson Investigation Unit are working the scene.

Bar patron's reported the fire.

At this time, detectives are not releasing the man's identity.
