TOLEDO, Ohio -
(WTVG) - What do you get when you combine a Mud Hens
game with fireworks and a charity auction? Well 'Community Shares of Northwest Ohio' is banking on a whole lot of help for local non-profits. Friday night, it's
hosting the "Share our Dreams" auction at Fifth Third Field. Community
shares is the umbrella organization for 26 different local charities. It's
raised nearly two million dollars in the last 15 years.
Executive director of Community Shares Angela
Abbatiello says, "We are very diverse, we try to support a whole range of
groups that people are engaged in. That includes the environment, social
justice, human rights, homeless shelters and food kitchens. A wide range of
things people care about in our community."
The Share Our Dreams auction is this Friday
at The Roost at Fifth Third Field. Doors open at 4:30pm with the live auction
at 6:00pm followed by the Mud Hens game at 7:00. Tickets are $35 for adults and
$20 for kids.
