An NBA Title on the Mind of the "King"

NBA Playoffs 2012: Will the King get a Ring?

Or will he get a "pass?"

I have to admit I have never been a Heat fan, and unlike most of you I did not become a Heat fan when the King, "took his talents" there.

So as I watch the playoffs and start to hear the word "pass" associated with the name, LeBron James, all I can do is: Shake. My. Head.

With Bosh out, Wade being hardly healthy, and with an inconsistent and virtually not existent bench, people are now wanting to give LeBron a pass if he does not win a title this year.

Are we really giving in to the biggest outcry yet?

I must be just experiencing a dream - or rather a NIGHTMARE?

I mean, the "King" came up small in the 4th quarters of four consecutive NBA Finals games, and people want to cut him some slack.

Blows my mind.

Now let me take a moment and hold true to what I said 'Cliftons' Corner' would entail, which is that athlete's perspective.

I will be realistic and fair - because as an athlete I understand you don't win titles 1 on 5 (even though MJ would have, if he had to) I know it is unlikely.

My thoughts are this.

I am not saying LeBron has to close out games, but I know that if his performances aren't the way they have been as of late...you might as well kiss your chance at gaining a ring good-bye, Miami.

With the aforementioned circumstances and LeBron's occasional case of the "choke" --- no SHOT (no pun intended here), there is no shot Miami will win a title.

BUT - yes I have a BUT, I will give the "King" some credit because as of late, if he shows up the way he has in that final quarter, which is more than he EVER has, and I am looking at the numbers when I say that ---- I will have one thing to say when he doesn't win that ring, and it does not entail me giving him a "pass."

It's more like: Where were the rest of ya'll?
