The Hottest Team in the NBA: The San Antonio Spurs

Posted: Updated:

If you have any sort of LOVE for sports, I know chills ran down your spine last night watching the Spurs.

I know there is a lot going on right now with the NBA: Draft Lottery & Celtics/Heat in Game 2 all tonight.

On my mind however, are the San Antonio Spurs!

The Spurs might be the first team to run with such a picture-perfect alliance, that may NEVER run into another team strong enough to beat them.

The last time a team ran deep into the post-season without a loss was the Lakers in 2001. They won 11 straight.

The Spurs are on a 20- game win streak (regular and post-season) and may never lose again this season (that'll be a record).

So who will beat them? And how?

The Spurs lead the league in FG% and 3-point %, both in the regular season and in the playoffs ( you won't out-shoot them ).

Probably won't beat them on the road either, they've been down 24 before and still won.

They pass the ball well, they attack, and they spread the floor which is why they have one of the best "pick and roll" games I have ever seen in the league (see Tim Duncan's jam right before the half ).

If there is a way to beat them, you have to destroy them in the paint and when you find a team left with a big man to do that, let me know.

In my eyes their "3 man game" can't be stopped because of this reason right here:

Guys like Boris Diaw. Diaw dropped 9 and grabbed 7 in their victory over the Thunder last night.

He was once a part of the worst team in the NBA ( Bobcats) and now Diaw is surrounding the heart of this team with the mentality that you must beat each one of us before you come close to beating all of us.

So this is how I see it, winning just six more, after winning twenty: just seems like a title in the making to me!
