SWAT school begins at Owens

OREGON, Ohio -

Ohio has a new spot for training its SWATteam members in Northwest Ohio. That new training center is Owens Community College's Center for Emergency Preparedness.

The college will host basic and advanced SWAT training, sniper training, among other programs.

Twenty students are taking part in the 40-hour training course that started Monday. Training will also include hands-on practice later this week.

Numerous law enforcement agencies are assisting with the program.
