Toledo Police summer “Safe-T-City” program

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, Ohio -

The Toledo Police Department is once again working to help keep kids safe. This year's Safe-T-City courses began Wednesday morning. The program is designed to help kids learn bike and bus safety and how to avoid ‘stranger danger.'

Students get hands-on training and hear firsthand from police officers and other experts.

"They are boys and girls going into kindergarten, so they are becoming more independent, and it's important because they may come into these situations everyday," says coordinator Susan Smith.

If you missed out on this round of classes, there are still Safe-T-City sessions available throughout the summer.

Four eight-day session of the program will be offered:

  • June 13 - June 22
  • June 25 - July 6
  • July 9 - July 18
  • July 23 - August 1
