DETROIT (AP) - Detroit is celebrating the reopening of a recreation center following a $750,000 renovation that was funded by auto parts maker Lear Corp.
The Joseph W. Williams recreation center is officially reopening Friday with an event hosted by the Detroit Recreation Department. Officials say the upgrades at the center include two shelters with grills, a splash pad, walking trail, four horseshoe pits, baseball diamonds and a playground.
Southfield-based Lear is a leading maker of auto seating and electrical systems.
