1. ROOSEVELT POOL OPENS

The first of Toledo's city pools opens tomorrow for the season. It's a grand re-opening celebration of Roosevelt Pool. This is the first year in several years that the pool off Dorr Street will open. That's thanks to a $300,000 makeover. The celebration ceremony is Saturday at noon. The pool is open until 6pm and will re-open Tuesday.

2. SAFE-T-CITY

There is still time to register your child for Safe-T-City. The free summer program is available for kids entering kindergarten in the fall. The program teaches important lessons about bus safety, pedestrian and bicycle safety, stranger danger and more. Parents can choose from morning or afternoon classes.

3. OHIO UNEMPLOYMENT RATE

(AP) - Officials are investigating whether Columbus schools acted improperly in making retroactive changes to thousands of student attendance records that could affect data used to evaluate one of Ohio's largest districts. The Columbus Dispatch reports the records affect the total number of students used to calculate attendance and test-passing rates. The records also can affect juvenile truancy cases.

5. IMMIGRATION ORDER

(AP) - President Barack Obama says it's not amnesty, but the right thing to do. He ordered a change in immigration enforcement that will grant work permits to younger immigrant brought to the U.S. by their parents. Those eligible must be between 16 and 30 and have been in the country for at least five years and have clean records. The policy shift has been embraced by Hispanics but condemned by Republicans.

6. ROMNEY BUS TOUR

(AP) - Mitt Romney has kicked off a six-state, small-town bus tour. Romney says President Barack Obama hasn't given middle-class Americans "a fair shot." His advisors say Romney will visit small towns that the president has forgotten. The bus tour - Romney planned to fly each night to the next state - is Romney's first traditional campaign swing aimed at undecided voters in six battleground states - New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa - that Obama won in 2008 and that may decide the presidential election in November.
