Darren Gantz is running against another Republican for the District 68 seat in the Oklahoma House and recently picked up the endorsement of Tulsa's Conservative newspaper, The Tulsa Beacon
In the past year, Republican legislative leaders have tried to facilitate single-pay health care (Obamacare), prevented a vote on the pro-life personhood bill and failed to eliminate uneven tax policies.
Gantz, who sells insurance, is opposed to the proposed health exchanges being pushed by Rep. Glen Mulready. Mulready argues that if Oklahoma doesn’t take this step, the federal government will impose health exchanges as part of Obamacare in 2014. Fortunately, that effort was halted in the 2012 session.
Gantz said it makes no sense to facilitate Obamacare, especially since it could be overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court this summer or by Congress if we elect a new president in November.
Gantz is a committed Christian who believes in the sanctity of human life. He is committed to the Second Amendment and the right for Americans to bear arms.
Gantz supports cutting the state income tax but for all Oklahomans, not just a wealthy few.
Some Republican leaders don’t want independent thinkers like Gantz in the House and they are putting a lot of resources up against him in this race. That won’t mean much if grassroots Oklahomans send a message to Republicans that they need to follow their conservative platform.
The Tulsa Beacon endorses Darren Gantz for House District 68.
