Police: Missing 2-year-old boy found drowned

Posted: Updated:

Oregon police say a missing 2-year-old boy has been found drowned in a pool.

The child, Frasier Burt, was reported missing after he was last seen with his grandfather at a home in the 3100 block of Beachwood Drive near Easthampton.

Oregon Police Chief, Mike Navarre said, "he was watching the boy, as he does while the parents work.  He was in the bathroom and when he came out, the boy was gone."

Police, firefighters, and dozens of neighbors frantically searched the neighborhood hoping to find the toddler.  But about 45 minutes after the call, their worst fears were realized.

Assistant Chief, Paul Magdich said, "we found the child in the pool.  He was trapped underneath the solar cover."

Emergency crews began CPR immediately, and rushed Frasier to St. Charles hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police believe the toddler walked out of the house alone.  Though its still unclear how he got next door, police say he ended up in the neighbors backyard.

Investigators say there is no indication that the incident was anything but a tragic accident.
