Margaretta Twp barn fires kill 3 cows

Firefighters in Margaretta Township are investigating a number of barn fires that killed three cows. Right now crews believe the series of fires are accidental. They happened on Route 6 between 269 and Maple Monday night.

The fire chief says it destroyed two barns, including 3,000 bales of straw. 18 cattle were saved, and a dairy farm and a milking business were also saved.

Nearly 40 firefighters were called out to the scene to help put it out. Some firefighters were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation.
