City pools open Tuesday

TOLEDO, Ohio -

With the heat wave on the way, Toledo swimmers have a chance to cool off Tuesday afternoon. The city pools officially opened for the summer season.

It's welcome news for kids looking for some relief from the heat. Up until this point many teens have resorted to the hose or maybe a sprinkler to stay cool, but now they can make a big splash in one of the city pools.

The Willys, Wilson, Jamie Farr, Navarre and Pickford pools opened at noon. The Roosevelt pool celebrated its grand opening over the weekend.

Pool admission for Willys and Roosevelt is $2 for ages 13 and up, and $1 for ages 12 and under. Junior pools at Jamie Farr, Navarre, Pickford and Wilson are $1 for ages 12 and under.
