2 men killed in separate Toledo shootings

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, Ohio -

Two people were killed in shootings early Wednesday morning. The violence started shortly after 1:00 a.m.

Toledo police say they found Antoine Huggins collapsed at the corner of Elm and Mettler. He was taken to the hospital and later died. The murder led to an extensive search for evidence lasting into the daylight hours.

Detectives think the shooting happened in an alleyway behind the 200 block of Everett after they found a bullet hole in the door of a garage, but hours after the shooting investigators were still trying to determine what led to the violence.

Two hours after the first shooting, gunfire erupted again. Around 3:30, police say someone driving near Collingood and Bancoft spotted a man hurt, asking for help. The person behind the wheel drove the victim to Mercy Saint Vincent's Medical Center.

The victim, Omar Braswell-Sutton, who was 19, died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Toledo police have no suspects in either murder. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-111.
