Sylvania Township is investigating a murder. It happened last night at 3322 Waldmar .
People who live on Waldmar in Sylvania Township were shocked to see crime scene tape around a home in their neighborhood. Tanya Shepherd lives down the street
"We've never not had one problem of issues of any kind in the neighborhood so when we heard this we were completely shocked," said Tanya Shepherd
Police say Thursday night 60-year-old Darryl Stipes was shot multiple times. Investigators say somehow the victim was able to call 9-1-1-
"The victim himself called it in and indicated he had been shot.He was found on the front stoop of his home . He indicated on the phone there were at least two males who had shot him. So it's a homicide investigation," said Deputy Chief Ray Carroll
Concerned residents were stunned to hear Stipes died.
"Wow! that's unusual around here that's unbelievable its only three houses down," said resident Brett Oltmans
Detectives were back at the victim's home today looking for clues
"Couple other things we are trying to determine motive and if anybody had a problem with him if it was robbery we don't now yet," said Deputy Chief Carroll.
What they do know is it wasn't random
"..We believe they knew who he was an he was a specific target," said Deputy Chief Ray Carroll
Shepherds response "The relieved us a little bit know that it was just aimed towards him you know as sad as that is but its not going to hopefully come back and affect anyone else"
