13abc looks into crime at Toledo's casino

TOLEDO, Ohio -

Many people were worried about crime at Toledo's new Hollywood casino, when it was first announced.  Now 13abc has a look at what police are dealing with and allegations of cheating.

The 13abc I-Team has obtained all the reports from Toledo police that involve incidents at the casino.  There are 15 incidents.  Some of them are minor, some a little more serious.  There are some allegations the state is looking at very seriously, cheating.

13abc  talked with the head of the Ohio Casino Control Commission, Matt Schuler.  He says the state is investigating up to 25 gaming incidents and that includes cheating.  He did not say how many are from Toledo and how many are from Cleveland's casino.  That one opened about two weeks before Toledo.

Schuler would not give any specifics of the investigations.  He did say they're working closely with local prosecutors to see how these cases will be handled.  A representative from the Attorney General's office also confirmed investigations but would not comment on the specifics.

Here is a look at specifics on the criminals cases by the Toledo police department at the casino:

2 incidents of disorderly conduct intoxication, 2 incidents of assault, criminal damage to motor vehicle, intimidation of a witness, aggravating menacing, resisting arrest, domestic violence/assault, theft of drugs, receiving stolen property, petty theft, obstructing official business, disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing.

The domestic violence/assault incident started at another location earlier in that day.  The suspect tracked down the victims later in the day at the casino where another assault allegedly occurred.  A small bag of marijuana was them found in the suspect's pants pocket. Tat suspect was then taken to jail.

Calls to a casino representative were not returned Friday for a response.

The cheating charges that may be coming down are serious.  A first time offense is a felony and that suspect could face up to a year in prison and face a fine of over $2500.
