TOLEDO, Ohio -
A young man and his family give back to the University of Toledo Medical Center, after lifesaving treatment for a catastrophic injury
Wyatt Yoder grew up in Holland, and was just five-years-old when he says his left knee was severed in an ATV accident. The fact that he's walking down this hallway is testament to his medical treatment. He had 7 surgeries back then over the course of a month to save his leg and his life.
Wyatt says, "We're here today to celebrate my 20th year and we're re-dedicating my endowment that my family and I started back in 1998, so we're renaming it and hopefully give back a little bit to the medical center what it gave back to me."
Dr. Nabil Ebraheim Orthopaedic Surgery Chair says, "He is a proven miracle and he's also an inspiration for all the injured patients."
Wyatt says he got a total knee replacement in 2009, has full use of his leg today and lives a normal, active life.
