Paulding power outages pack nearby hotels

Posted: Updated:
DEFIANCE, Ohio -

Broken trees and down power lines has been a common sight throughout parts of northwest Ohio.

The signs of storm damage are clear as day in Paulding County. Some are fortunate enough to power their homes with generators. For many others it's still lights out. Some we spoke with are without power or running water.

Area residents are completely filling up hotels, looking for any type of relief from the widespread power outages.

"Our business has definitely been affected for the positive by the storm. We weren't expecting a big crowd, but when the storm came it changed all that. We're pretty much filled to capacity," says Brent M. Tomlinson at Holiday Inn Express

Residents are being told power will be restored by July 7.
