Jury deliberations begin in Zimbeck murder trial

Posted: Updated:

The jury began deliberations Tuesday afternoon in the murder trial of Walter Zimbeck.

Zimbeck is accused of the murder of Lori Ann Hill back in October 1985. Hill was 14-years-old when she was killed. Her body was found by deer hunters several days after she went missing.

According to investigators, she was badly beaten.

Zimbeck was Hill's ex-boyfriend. He was questioned at the time but not charged. Cold case detectives reopened the case in 2009 and charged Zimbeck with the murder.

Tuesday, attorneys on both sides made their closing arguments in the decades-old case.

The jury will reconvene after the holiday on Thursday morning at 8:30.

If a tornado threatens, get into the basement. If you don't have a basement, a small, interior room in the lowest floor of your home is relatively safe. Avoid rooms with windows. Mobile homes are not safe in a tornado.
