ASHLAND, Ohio -

Relatives of a missing Ohio woman who disappeared during a North Carolina vacation are heading south to help search for her.

Businesses in her hometown are offering more than $7,000 in rewards for information about the whereabouts of the woman or her boyfriend.

Authorities say 33-year-old Lynn Jackenheimer of Ashland went to the Outer Banks of North Carolina last week with her boyfriend, Nate Summerfield, and her two children but didn't return with them. Summerfield's brother called police to say Summerfield told him he strangled the woman.

Police said Summerfield returned his girlfriend's children to Ohio and left them with his family.

Now a manhunt is underway for as police are search for Nate Summerfield.

His brother made a call to 9-1-1:

911 Caller: "My brother was in North Carolina with his ex-girlfriend and he came back and said he strangled her. He dropped his kid off and left."

Thirty-three- year old Jackenheimer was last seen July third.

Her sister Tara Johnson said,  "When your sister or your daughter or your family
member goes on vacation, you'll never expect them not to come back."

Johnson says she last heard from her 2 days before she disappeared.

Jackenheimer, Summerfield, their 3-year-old son and her 13-year-old daughter
left Ashland, Ohio for a Fourth of July road-trip to North Carolina's Outer Banks.

Johnson says the two had been in a relationship on and off for the last couple of years.

Summerfield returned the kids to loved ones in Ohio Sunday, but there was no sign of their mother and he hasn't been seen since. Jackenheimer's family says the couple had a troubled past that included explosions of violence.

Summerfield's family has not answered requests for comment. In North Carolina, authorities are still looking for any clues.
