Vandals hit Findlay school

FINDLAY, Ohio -

Vandals strike in Findlay. Police in the flag city are taking extra trips around some new school buildings.

Police say security has been beefed up and neighbors are keeping a close eye out for anything suspicious. Findlay police want to know who went into the new Glenwood Middle School and vandalized it last month.

According to this police report someone entered the school and set off the fire extinguishers.  Graffiti was found in the hallways and several offices, and ceiling tiles were thrown around.

Lt. John Dunbar of the Findlay Police Department says there was no forced entry.

" It didn't appear to be any forced entry because the building was fairly open so it wasn't to hard to gain access at that point."

The construction site now has a fence around it and is locked down. Officers are taking extra trips around the building.

Neighbors like Chris Ireland are more alert, too. "When I take the dogs out at night, I'll see what's going on. They usually have the lights on inside the new school. Now I think that might be a deterrent to some of the kids or whoever is vandalizing the new school."

Police have no suspects and urge residents to call them if they see anything suspicious.
