Two charged in S. Toledo FBI raid

TOLEDO, Ohio -

A local business found itself in hot water Thursday afternoon as the FBI and the Toledo police drug task force executed a search warrant at monster garage near Angola and Holland-Sylvania.

Authorities are being very tight-lipped about the reasons for the raid.

But we do know that several people were detained, and this was the next step in what police say was a very lengthy investigation.

"basically, its a search warrant, and its in regards to an ongoing investigation," George Taylor said, deputy chief, investigative services, Toledo police.

The commotion surprised and shocked many people.

"I came down here and see this big event going on so I'm kind of curious what's going on," one man said.

"we were working out here, unloading a truck and I saw an armored vehicle go down the street it said FBI and was like 'whoa!  that isn't good," said lee McKinney, who works nearby.

McKinney says he and his co-workers watched everything unfold.

"cops were coming from everywhere!  they blocked the street, I heard a couple of bangs like they were blasting doors down or something," he said.

The Toledo metro drug task force headed up the investigation.   Swat members stormed the building and detained at least 8 people.   Right now, it seems there are more questions than answers.   Deputy chief Taylor says from here, officers will look over the evidence to figure out exactly what they're dealing with.

Charles Johnson and Albert Weather both face Federal drug charges. Investigators found $65,000  inside the business Thursday. An FBI spokesperson declined to comment on any additional arrests or charges.
