Police Accuse Jack Frost of Stealing Ice

Posted: Updated:

This story may sound like a joke, but police in Woodville are taking it seriously: A man named Jack Frost is accused of stealing ice.

"That is funny," says Corinne Anderson, a Woodville resident.

"It is ironic," says Rick Kasper of Woodville.

"Jack Frost needed ice that day," says Roxanne Greenley of Woodville.

"I get the joke and there is irony," says Heather Frost, the suspect's sister.  "I'd be lying if I didn't say I got a good laugh out of it, but there's deeper issues there.  I'm glad that it happened this way because I'm hoping this is his last and final wake up call.  Maybe even him seeing this when he gets out he'll realize wow what a mistake I made and hopefully I can turn my life back around."

Jack Frost, 29, was spotted at Del's Supermarket in Woodville this week. Security video showed a package of bacon sticking out from under the shirt of Shawn Powell, 28. Powell allegedly got into a car driven by Jack Frost, who was also seen stealing a bag of ice from an outdoor cooler.

Woodville police pulled over and arrested the pair Wednesday night.

Right now Jack Frost is cooling his heels in jail and won't get out without coming up with $11,000 in cold hard cash to make bond.  Bond is the same for the guy who allegedly burgled the bacon.  They each fact a charge of misdemeanor theft and felony robbery.
